Most of the people are used to traditional white weddings, held in large, decorated banquet halls, with a lot of guests sitting at the tables, and dancing to the music played by a band or a DJ. Although, there are also some other possible places, where your wedding ceremony and the reception could be held. One of the most popular choices among couples is a garden. Having your wedding ceremony and reception at a garden, will for sure make it more romantic and charming then traditional wedding at a banquet hall.
Place
Find a large garden in your area. It can be either a private garden – for example yours, or your friend’s place. Remember, that it should be large enough to accommodate your guests, catering, band etc. Put some garden furniture there – tables, chairs, so your guests will have enough place to sit.
Decorations
Decorating a garden for wedding is a bit more complex, then decorating a banquet hall. While decorating a garden, you need to be even more concerned to choose the right decorations. Put a candles on tables, and put the lights on trees. A good idea is to put string lights between trees – it will make really charming look when the sun goes down. Decorate everything with fresh flowers – avoid using silk or dried flowers.
Music
Hiring a DJ is a bad idea for a garden wedding. It will simply not fit the whole concept of garden wedding. Instead, hire an elegant, live band, playing classical jazz music. Dancing at the garden probably won’t be a good idea, so a soft, jazz music will be a perfect background music for both the ceremony, and the reception.
Menu
Open-air reception, such as a garden wedding, allows you for some unusual possibilities, such as preparing a barbecue. Tasty, grilled dishes will make a perfect menu, for your garden wedding! Grilled meat with some vegetables, combined with red wine will be both tasty, and elegant, and I’m pretty sure that your guests will love it!
Having your wedding held in a garden, will make it far more romantic, then a traditional wedding. Also, you can’t forget about the new possibilities given to you, when you decide to make a garden wedding.
