The most popular time for getting married is either during spring, or in summer. Although, some people tend to choose the winter, as a time of their wedding. Why is it so? Well, first of all, it is a bit more innovative, and winter allows some new possibilities for newly-weds, and for a wedding organization.

 

Why do people consider making a wedding in winter?

It is something different for them. Almost everyone prefer to get married in summer, so getting wedded in winter is a nice occasion to be creative. Also, winter can be really charming time of year. Imagine having your wedding reception at a countryside, in a small cozy cottage, with a lot of snow outside, sitting next to a fireplace.

Getting married during winter months requires a different preparations. That also includes decorating. Most of the traditional decorations, which could be used in summer, won’t fit the winter theme. You should try to get a totally different decorations. That include the different theme, shapes, colours. Some couples tend to combine Christmas elements with winter wedding, so a nice Christmas-oriented decorations can be used. The most popular colours used for winter weddings are different tones of blue, navy, green, purple etc. Remember about using flowers from the winter season (such as: roses, lilies, amaryllis) , otherwise, expect to pay a lot for floral decorations.

 

Ideas for winter wedding reception

The best place, where your wedding reception can be held is a small, wooden cottage at a countryside. The cozy climate inside, and the winter weather outside will make a perfect theme. Also, remember about getting a fitting menu for your winter wedding – tasty steaks from red meat, vegetables, and an aromatic mulled wine will make a perfect menu for a cold-winter times! Do not forget about the another possibility of transport – a horse-drawn sleigh. It will give you an unforgettable memories, and without any doubts it will impress your guests.

 

As you can see, preparing a wedding at winter can also be a good idea.

While almost everyone are getting wedded in summer, you can be alternative, and plan a wedding in Christmas time, to provide unforgettable experience for you, and your guests!
